MMM: Create a Summer Scene

Hello again, friends!  I'm sad to announce that this will be my very last DT post for the fabulous Make My Monday challenge blog.  I've got some other things coming up in my personal life and so I needed to step down from quite a few responsibilities and sadly this was one of them.  I want to give a very heartfelt thank you to all the gals on the team--especially Jacqueline who is the one who invited me to join them at Make My Monday.  This was the first ever DT I was invited to join and I cannot describe how thankful I am that this was my first DT experience!  THANK YOU, girls!  I love and admire all of you and will miss you terribly!

With that said, we do have a fantastic challenge for you this week and I had tons of fun creating my card for it!  Our challenge for you is to CREATE A SUMMER SCENE!

Here's what I created~

All inks, papers, and embellishments are from Stampin' Up!. I started by blending in my green, yellow, and blue inks with a blending tool by Ranger.  I then stamped the beautiful tree image from the Kim's Coppice set by Woodware.  After stamping the trees, I realized the different colors needed some texture so I used a Kaiser Kraft texture stamp over the blue, bubble wrap over the yellow, and another Kaiser Kraft swirl stamp for the green.  I then rummaged through my stash and found a small stamp set by Technique Tuesday that was perfect for creating a small garden along the bottom of my card.  Three butterfly images punched out and a sentiment, all from Stampin' Up!, finished my project.

I love the bold summery feel of this card and am very proud that I made it!  I wouldn't have been able to do this a few years back before joining this amazing DT, but everyone is so encouraging and inspirational!  A last thank you for all your support, gals!  You've been fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card today!  I hope you've been inspired to try something new and to join in our challenge!  Please make sure to visit the other lovely ladies on this DT and leave some love with them as well! HUGS and happy stamping friends! :)

52CCT: June Embellishment Challenge

Sequins are the newest "thing" to hit the crafting world.  Which kinda cracks me up.  I had a bunch of them at one point and time and either gave them away or threw them away so that I didn't have them gumming up my embellies drawer, lol!  Luckily, I found a huge bag of them at a garage sale recently for just fifty cents.  Hooray!  And we'd like you to use some sequins this week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown...along with pearls!

Here's some inspiration~

My creation~

Inside~

I've used sequins from my stash, liquid pearls by Ranger, patterned paper by Recollections, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I not only got the sequins at that garage sale, I also picked up two stamp sets--the snowman one I used earlier this month for $2 and this stamp set for just $3!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card! I hope you'll join us this week and that you'll also take a bit of time to leave some love with the other gals on this amazing DT! Merry stamping, friends! :)

Finding Joy in Vintage Style Crafting

Hi, friends!  As most of you know, I'm starting a new challenge blog called House of Cards and our first challenge goes live on July 1, 2013.  The concept behind the challenge is different from any other I've come across--take a peek HERE to see what that is if you're interested.  I'm starting it to force myself to practice different card making styles.  My least favorite?  Vintage/Shabby Chic.  It is REALLY hard for me to craft in this style.  So I'm grateful for other sites who are hosting vintage challenges right now so that I can practice! ;)

Here's my latest attempt~

Inspired-by-Stamping-June-B

Well, this was a journey!  I've used some patterned and glitter paper by DCWV, gold glitter glue by Studio G, pearls and seam binding from my stash, pins by Maya Road, flowers by Prima, stamps by Inspired By Stamping, die cuts by JustRite, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I have to say that I really am happy with the way this turned out--and on my first try! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my creation!  I really appreciate all your support and sweet comments--they mean the world to me!  I hope that my card has inspired you to create something today and that you join in the fun with these fabulous challenges!  HUGS and happy stamping friends!

NEVER Give Up

Hi, friends!  One last card for today and then you'll be rid of me. ;)  This one is a patriotic card that I will be sending as an AnyHero card to Operation Write Home. Nothing says summer to me like anything Patriotic!  Visions of summer picnics and Fourth of July fireworks...root beer floats.  LOVE me some patriotic celebrations!  That's what inspired this card. :)

IBSIC-#56

I've used stamps by Inspired By Stamping, pins by Maya Road, baker's twine and a button from my stash, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I colored in the originally off white pins with Sharpies to get the desired colors.  I'm very pleased with how they turned out!  I also created the background panel with one of my favorite techniques--stamping plus punched paper pieced plus dry embossing.  I LOVE the effect it creates!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I hope that you are inspired by it and that you come and join the fun with these fabulous challenge!  HUGS and happy stamping friends!

Love ya, summer flowers!

One of my favorite parts of summertime is all the gorgeous flowers that bloom!  I don't have the best garden, but our neighbor has an absolutely gorgeous one that I can see through the fence.  All beautiful lush greens and different flowers!  LOVE it! :)  So, I've created a card based on those two things--summertime and flowers.  We'll see if you like it...

IBSIC-#57

I've used stamps by Inspired By Stamping, ribbon from my stash, specialty paper by Coor'dinations, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I stamped the flowers onto some white shimmery paper to give them more depth and really like the effect!  Hopefully you can see it in the photo. :)

One lucky winner who plays along all month
with us will win a prize from their store!

It's the third week of our challenge month and that means we've got a CASE for you to be inkspired by!  It's a fabulous CAS creation by the lovely Vicki Burdick of It's A Stamp Thing
!

Here's our photo inkspiration~
Original design HERE.

Here's my take on Vicki's card~

I'd like to enter this into these fabulous challenges~

All supplies used are by Stampin' Up! except the sentiment which is by Hero Arts.  I really loved the simplicity of Vicki's design and the serious white space she's got going on.  I also adore pearls, so I substituted the hearts for butterflies and added some pearls as butterfly bodies!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week with some amazing creations inspired by Vicki!  Don't forget to check out what my very talented DT has to share with you as well!  HUGS and happy stamp{ink}!!! :)

Got the blues?

Ever had a case of the blues?  I've had one the past few days and I realized why--I hadn't gotten into my craft area for almost a week to create "just because"!  Well, I had to remedy that quick fast!  The end result is three cards that I am amazingly happy with--that NEVER happens!  I'll share them with you in a few posts spread out just a bit...you know, to keep you coming back! ;)  I call this first one "The Blues."

Here's "The Blues"~

Detail~

For these fabulous challenge~

IBSIC-#55

(Inspired by the ombre/color fading.)

(Focus on the sentiment.)

I've used stamps by Inspired By Stamping, patterned paper by Recollections, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I used the "Rock 'n' Roll" technique for the sentiment to make it more of a focal point of interest.

Speaking of,  I LOVE this sentiment.  I truly believe that no matter what mistakes we've made, we can make them into a positive in our lives and create something good with them.  That's part of the great repentance process.  We're all human.  We will make mistakes.  It'll be okay as long as we learn from them.  No need to have the blues when you make a mistake--just pick yourself up, own it, ask forgiveness if needed, and do better.  It's totally easier said than done, but the more you practice it, the easier it gets!

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I do hope you like it and that you've been inspired to join in these fabulous challenges!  HUGS and happy stamping friends! :)

Welcome to another Make My Monday DT post!  This week we've got a color challenge for you.  We'd like you to use SHADES OF PURPLE WITH ONLY ONE NEUTRAL COLOR!  I chose purple and white.

Here's my card~

I've used stamps by Hero Arts, a sentiment by Inspired By Stamping, rhinestone butterflies and glitter glue by Studio G, a blending tool and liquid pearls by Ranger, white embossing powder by Stampendous! and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.

I had a grand time creating the background!  I first embossed some blooms from Hero Arts with white embossing powder by Stampendous!.  Then I used the blending tool and purple inks to shade it.  After taht I used deep purple ink to add some other flower images.  Liquid pearls in deep and light purple and white finished it up.  I love this card!!!

52CCT: June Theme Challenge

One of my absolute favorite things to do at Christmas time is to decorate my tree.  There are times that I drag my feet about it and grumble, but ultimately I LOVE it!  I try to do something different each year.  Sometimes buying new ornaments is just the ticket!  And ornaments is our focus this week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown! :)

Here's some inspiration~

My card~

I've used patterned paper by DCWV, a dry embossing folder by Sizzix, ribbon and sequins from my stash, liquid pearls by Ranger, and all other supplies are from Stampin' Up!.  I've used a fun technique called 3D Punch Elements to create my ornaments--it's such a great technique and totally easy to do!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Do pop over and see the other fabulous creations by the other lovely ladies on this DT too!  Merry stamping, friends!
